'Bellows Falls', 1874. The Tucker Toll Bridge over the Connecticut River at Bellows Falls, Vermont, USA. 'Bellows Falls...is well known as the stopping-place of the railways, and, to some extent, a place of summer resort. The falls, which give the chief charm to the place, are a succession of rapids in the Connecticut [River]. These rapids extend not far from a mile along the base of a high and precipitous hill...which bears the name of Fall Mountain'.
