'Sirdar's Palace (on Site of General Gordon's Heroic Death) - On Lawn, Shoebill Stork, Africa's Rarest Bird, Khartoum, Alglo Egyptian Sudan', c1930s. The Governor's Palace in Khartoum was rebuilt by Lord Kitchener from 1898 and served as the seat of an Anglo-Egyptian Sudan government until 1956.
