The Navy Office, Crutched Friars, London, 1714, (1943). View of the building in the City of London where diarist Samuel Pepys worked as Clerk of the Acts to the Navy Board from 1660 till 1677. The Navy Office was a government department which was responsible for the day-to-day civil administration of the British Royal Navy from 1576 until 1832.
