'Queen Victoria at Osborne', 1865-1867, (1943). Portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) in mourning, seated on her pony, Flora, held by her servant and favourite John Brown (1826-1883). Behind is the royal residence of Osborne. The clock stands at 3 pm. On the ground lie her gloves and letters https://www.rct.uk/collection/403580/queen-victoria-at-osborne dogs, a Border collie (probably Sharp) and a Skye terrier called Prince. The box which had contained the letters is also on the ground. Princess Louise and Princess Helena are sitting in the background with a terrier.
