At Marseilles, '...the papers for France are delivered, and an abstract of the Indian news drawn up for the instant information of the French and English Governments. This abstract is sent by telegraph to Paris and thence to Boulogne by a one-borse "Malle-poste". In France, the telegraph usually occupies the top of a church tower'.
