The Nautilus Cup, 1844. Nautilus shell with parcel-gilt silver mounts decorated with the figure of Neptune riding a hippocamp. It was made in the mid-late 16th century by Nikolaus Schmidt. The cup was often used at royal banquets during the reign of Queen Victoria. From "Illustrated London News", 1844, Vol I.
