Visit of the French king Louis Philippe to Britain: 'The train started from Gosport with the King, Prince Albert, and the distinguished personages who accompanied them, at eleven o'clock, and arrived at Farnborough station at half-past twelve o'clock, where carriages were in waiting, in which they immediately went off at a rapid pace towards Windsor [Castle]'.
