French fleet off Tangier, 1844. The French navy preparing to attack the Moroccan town of Tangier, on the coast of North Africa. 'The French force here now consists of three line-of-battle ships, one frigate, and six steamers. Prince de Joinville has his flag flying on board the Suffren, of 90 guns. They have on board about 2000 soldiers'. From "Illustrated London News", 1844, Vol V.
