Southover Church, 1845. Church of St John the Baptist near Lewes in Sussex. '...the present church of Southover, is, in part, ancient. It consists of a square brick tower, in which is the principal entrance doorway, lately restored in good taste...The tower of the church was built early in the last century, in place of the tower and steeple, which fell down in 1698'.
