St. James's Theatre - The Amateurs - Capt. Bobadil, (Mr. Charles Dickens), 1845. London stage production starring amateur actors in Ben Jonson's "Every Man in his Humour". British writer Charles Dickens and his friends staged the play as a benefit, and acted in it themselves. 'Mr. Dickens's Bobadil was the best impersonation of the night, and a performance of very high merit, even if measured by a technical standard'. From "Illustrated London News", 1845, Vol VII.
