Mogadore, 1844. Ships off the coast of Mogador Island, near Essaouira in Morocco: '...we learn that the French squadron was to sail positively on the 8th, to bombard Mogadore - hence destined to become the second point by the French in their attack on Morocco. Mogadore, or Sueza, as the Moghrebins call it, the port of the town of Morocco, lies on the Atlantic shore, between Cape Cantin and Cape Gher. It was founded in 1760'.
