A black-and-white stereograph group photograph of the original Jubilee Singers from Fisk University located in Nashville, Tennessee. The Fisk Jubilee Singers are an African-American a cappella ensemble, consisting of students at Fisk University. The first group was organised in 1871 to tour and raise funds for college. The object consists of double photographs of the same image taken from two slightly different perspectives. Stereographs are distinctive among other stereoscopic photographs because they are photographic prints mounted on cards, From 1856 they were produced with twin-lens cameras, creating a three dimensional effect when viewed through a stereoscope.
