A certificate of membership for the North Sixtieth Street Residents' and Merchants' Association, dated April 1st, 1987. The certificate is black ink printed on light blue paper, with both preprinted text and typewritten text. It is signed by Robert H. Coleman, president, and Maggie Carter, secretary. The reverse is blank. Mae Reeves (1912-2016) was a pioneering African-American milliner who was famous for her custom-made hats. Her business, Mae's Millinery Shop in downtown Philadelphia, was one of the first shops in the city to be owned by a woman of African American heritage.
