This letter (.1) and envelope (.2) are for correspondence written by Nelson Jordan Jr. as dictated by Nelson Jordan, and by Nelson Jordan, from Farmville, Virginia, to Julia Womack of Pasadena, California. The letter gives instructions to Womack regarding a letter of commendation drafted by Jordan allowing her membership into churches in her new residence of California. There is concern the document was not properly written. Jordan Jr. gives instructions to Womack about the document, and Jordan writes a sort of addendum validating the document with an explanation and his signature. The letter is written on ruled paper folded in half vertically to form four pages. The envelope has a preprinted return address for Reverend Nelson Jordan of Shilo Baptist Church in the upper left recto corner. A two-cent red postage stamp is adhered in the recto upper right corner with a post office stamp partially over it. A second post office stamp is on the verso center bottom.
