Carte-de-visite of Carrie Lining shown in half portrait. Lining is turned one quarter to her right, with her head facing the camera though she looks slightly off frame. Her hair is parted at the center and gathered at the nape of her neck. She wears hoop earrings and a dark colored bodice with a standing collar. A white collar tied in a bow at the center neck is tucked under the dark standing collar of her bodice.;Handwritten on the photograph below the image is "Carrie Lining" with "Charleston, S.C." written below that on the mount. There is a mark on the back of the photograph for Barnard's studio.;The photograph is housed in the album 2017.30. The album page has a triple-lined, gold border framing the print.
