Her hair is parted at the center and gathered at the nape of her neck. She wears hoop earrings and a dark colored bodice with a standing collar. A white collar tied in a bow at the center neck is tucked under the dark standing collar of her bodice.;Handwritten on the photograph below the image is "Carrie Lining" with "Charleston, S.C." written below that on the mount. There is a mark on the back of the photograph for Barnard's studio.;The photograph is housed in the album 2017.30. The album page has a triple-lined, gold border framing the print.
