African-American Dabney N. Montgomery is a documented original Tuskegee airman, a 2007 recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and was an active participant in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, acting as a body guard for Martin Luther King Jr. during the Selma to Montgomery March of 1965.
