Programme for the 1965 New York chapter of Girl Friends, Inc "Ball of Roses" held at the Waldorf Astoria, and given to Jessica B. Harris. The Girl Friends, Incorporated, founded in 1927 in New York City during the Harlem Renaissance, is one of the oldest and most highly respected social organisations of African American women in the United States. The programme is pink wih a hand drawn, red rose with a green stem on it at centre. Below the rose is "The Ball of Roses."
