A view from the spire of the Cathedral Church of Saint Michael, looking in a north-east direction over the construction site of the new Coventry Cathedral, showing work on the roof and the construction of the Chapel of Unity on the left of the foreground. Construction of the new cathedral took place between the mid-1950s and 1962 with the foundation laying ceremony being carried out by Queen Elizabeth II on 23 March 1956. This photograph was taken to show the progress of the construction.
