A general view looking north on the Stafford By-pass during the construction of the Birmingham to Preston Motorway (M6), showing a B type structure in the foreground and a Fc type structure in the background (bridges) with asphalt surfacing in progress on the west carriageway. Work on the Stafford By-pass started in September 1960 and was opened to traffic in December 1962.
