The interior of a sugar silo at Spalding Sugar Factory, with a man adjusting a cover on an outlet from the sugar floor above. Two silos and an elevator tower were built by Laing at Spalding Sugar Factory for the British Sugar Corporation in 1965. A cement shortage slowed progress on the construction of the silos, which reached their full height by August 1965. When completed, they each held 12,000 tons of sugar.
