Sarre Windmill, Canterbury Road, Sarre, Thanet, Kent, 1929 A view of Sarre Windmill, showing the smock mill without its sails. Sarre Windmill was built in 1820 for the grinding of corn. It ceased to work with wind in 1922 and finally stopped in 1940, but was later restored and returned to work in 1992.
