Much Park Street, Coventry, 1941. The street elevation of 29 Much Park Street showing evidence of bomb damage and a man up a ladder painting the shop front. Coventry City centre was devastated by air raids in November 1940. The bombing left the cathedral in ruins and destroyed much of the historic fabric of the city. Many of the houses at the south end of Much Park Street were damaged in the raids but survived until the early 1960s when everything, apart from Whitefriars Gatehouse, was cleared.
