Reconstruction drawing showing an oblique view of The Hope, The Rose and The Globe theatres in Southwark as they may have appeared in the mid-17th century, with a scene depicting 'beere bayting' in the corner and black lettering added to the image. All three theatres were closed in the mid-17th century but were important venues for late 16th and 17th century entertainment. This illustration is a digital copy of a watercolour painting, with black lettering added.
