Jerrie Cobb is tested in the Gimbal Rig in the Altitude Wind Tunnel, USA, c1950s. American pilot and aviator Jerrie Cobb at the Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio. Cobb was part of the Mercury 13, a group of women who underwent physiological screening tests at the same time as the original Mercury Seven astronauts. She was the first to complete each of the tests.
