Rose of Torridge, The Quay, Bideford, Bideford, Torridge, Devon, 1963. An exterior view of the Rose of Torridge from the south-east. The Rose of Torridge dates from the early to mid 17th century, and was altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is the where the Brotherhood of the Rose was founded in Charles Kingsley's 1855 novel 'Westward Ho!'
