Laing Sports Ground, Rowley Lane, Elstree, Barnet, London, 09/06/1973. Toddlers in a running race, with adults watching from the starting line, at the annual Gala Day held at the Laing Sports Ground. The annual Gala Day was held at the Laing Sports Ground on 9th June 1973. Attractions included police dog demonstrations, model aircraft, the Royal British Legion band, children's races, and sports. In the evening there was dancing and bingo in the Club House, and 'beer and beat' in the marquee. Over 2,000 people attended the gala, and over 600 people stayed for the evening entertainment. This photograph was published in the July 1973 edition of 'Team Spirit', the Laing employee newsletter.
