Laing Sports Ground, Rowley Lane, Elstree, Barnet, London, 30/06/1956. People playing the 'hoopla' game during a Laing sports day at Elstree, showing a table with prizes on small blocks and a man collecting the hoops ready for the next round. This sports day was attended by many Laing staff members and their families, with some travelling to Elstree from as far as Swindon, Leicester and Dagenham. The day consisted of various track and field events as well as attractions for children including fairground rides and performers. Handicraft, cookery, flower and photography competitions were also held, with entries displayed in a marquee at the fete.
