Minories Car Park, 1 Shorter Street, City of London, 18/07/1969. The first section of parapet wall in place at the north east corner of Minories Car Park. The architect specified that the exposed aggregate finish of the spandrel and parapet panels was uniform in colour and texture. To achieve this all the flint had to be selected and stockpiled in advance. Team Spirit, the Laing company newsletter, refers to Whalley flint; presumably the Lancashire town that was the source of the aggregate.
