Steel Works, Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire, 16/09/1975. A conveyor belt under construction in a tunnel at the British Steel Works at Redcar. The first phase of Laing's involvement at the Redcar site consisted mostly of the construction of facilities for the reception and storage of raw materials, raw ore, coal and limestone. A network of tunnels was constructed underground to move these raw materials to the stockyard once delivered by rail.
