West Cumberland Hospital, Homewood Road, Homewood, Whitehaven, Copeland, Cumbria, 27/08/1964. Workers washing and pressing bed linen in the laundry at West Cumberland Hospital. Built during the first phase of construction at the site along with the boiler house and workshops, the laundry could handle 45,000 articles a week and serviced a number of hospitals in the region. This photograph appeared in the December 1964 issue of Team Spirit, the Laing company newsletter.
