Meeting of the Ladies' Committee at Stafford House in Aid of the Great Exhibition of Industry of all Nations, in 1851, 1850. 'A meeting took place on Saturday last, at Stafford House, where, on the invitation of the Duchess of Sutherland, a very large party of distinguished ladies assembled, in order to determine upon a plan for aiding the Prince Consort in carrying out the great Exhibition of National Industry propounded by his Royal Highness...A number of resolutions were passed, and a committee formed, to which Lord Dufferin and Lord F. Howard were elected honorary secretaries; after which the proceedings were adjourned'. From "Illustrated London News", 1850.
