National Concert at Her Majesty's Theatre, [London], 1850. 'It is highly creditable to the direction of the above entertainments at Her Majesty's Theatre, that so much alacrity has been displayed in amending the errors of inexperienced management. It is an excellent sign when such promptitude is manifested to consult the wants and wishes of the really musical public. Many causes of complaint as to convenience and comfort have been removed, and the schemes are gradually developing the vast resources at the command of the executive committee in the most advantageous light. The alteration in the classification of the players, by bringing the violins more forward, has been attended with the best results.' From "Illustrated London News", 1850.
