The Great Exhibition Building in Hyde Park - the Adze, 1850. View of '...a solid two-armed stout iron stock; to the end of each arm is attached an adze, 10½ inches long, and 4½ inches wide. These two adzes rotate together, and remove the uneven parts of the upper surface of the plank or batten; the plank is kept down to this part of the bench by two pressure rollers'.
