The banquet was held in '...an apartment of great magnificence...Two long tables were arranged on either side of the room with a cross table, together affording seats for 140 guests, and exhibiting a magnificent display of the choicest plate. The apartment was superbly illuminated, and when the guests were seated the effect was extremely grand.
