No. 16. - Mr. Tucker's Devon Ox - £30 Prize, and Silver Medal, 1850. Agricultural show in London. '...a 3 years and 9 months old Hereford ox, fed by his Royal Highness Prince Albert, which obtained the first prize of £20 in Class 4, for oxen or steers of any breed and age, above 80 and under 95 stones weight. This animal was bred by Mr. Thomas Sheriff, of Buckton, near Ludlow, and fed on cake, meal, hay, and roots. It is a short square animal'. From "Illustrated London News", 1850.
