Camp bulletin board in Shafter camp for migratory workers, Farm Security Administration (FSA) camp, California. This notice is a statement of self-determined policy drawn up by the camp committee of elected officers, known as the camp council. ['Numerous threats of bodily injury and destruction of property have been made against residents of this camp who have refrained from picking cotton and against those who are picking cotton, according to information brought to the camp council. Any acts of violence in this camp, or threats against individuals living here, would have the most harmful effect on the camp as a whole and upon the people living in it...ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO...COMMITS OR THREATENS TO COMMIT VIOLENCE...SHALL...BE IMMEDIATELY EVICTED FROM THIS CAMP.'].
