High Street, Chatham, Medway, 1942. View from the north-west showing terraced shops on the north side of the High Street, with number 277 in the foreground. The premises of T Partis, shown in this photograph as a newsagent and tobacconist, were at 277 High Street. This building, which still stands, is now (2021) occupied by a barber's shop. The adjoining buildings with dormer windows have been demolished and replaced with modern buildings, but the shops in the background of the picture are also still standing.
