On the dais, upon the wainscoting, were hung pictures of the founder, William of Wykeham, and of Dr. Goddard and Dr. Cheney, formerly head-masters...The time-honoured song, "Dulce Domum," under the direction of the Prefect of Hall, was chanted, with the wonted zeal and hearty love of Wykehamists - accompanied by the band of the 34th Regiment...'.
