The Insurrection in Spain - the Insurgents setting fire to the Palace of Queen Christina, at Madrid, 1854. 'The first objects of attack by the people of Madrid, when they rose against the Government, on the night of the 17th [July], were the houses of Salamanca, Sartorius, and the other obnoxious Ministers, and the palace of Queen Christina...On the night of the 21st a large crowd collected in front of the palace of Queen Christina, and it was thought they were about to attack it a second time, but they dispersed without committing any damage. The general cry among the mob was that the " wicked old Queen," as she is styled by them, had not suffered half enough'. From "Illustrated London News", 1854.
