Mr. Charles Townley's White Short-horn Cow: Gold Medal; White Pig, Betty, the Property of H.R.H. Prince Albert - Silver Medal...In Pigs there was a famous show, both large and small breeds. The gold medal, the first prize of £10, and the silver medal to breeder, went to Mr. Williams, of Somersetshire, for a pen of black pigs, called Improved Leicesters - we should say, crossed with Essex'.
