SS Prinz Eitel Friedric [sic], between 1911 and 1920. The SS Prinz Eitel Friedrich, German passenger liner which saw service in the First World War as an auxiliary cruiser of the Imperial German Navy. She attacked and sank 11 vessels in the Pacific and South Atlantic. On the United States declaration of war with Germany on 6 April 1917, she was seized by US Customs officials and transferred to the US Navy, and was later used as a troopship.
