Anthony Caminetti, Commissioner General of Immigration, Labor Department, 1914. Son of Italian immigrants, US Commissioner General of Immigration from 1913 to 1921. Caminetti argued that Congress should end all immigration of Chinese, Japanese, and Malays because they represented the "Asiatic menace."
