Artillery Garden, Finsbury, Islington, Greater London Authority, 2011. A cricket match in play at the Artillery Garden, Finsbury, with Armoury House beyond. The Artillery Garden, or Artillery Ground, is thought to be the oldest venue for archery in the world and is also London's oldest enclosed sports venue. The site has hosted archery since at least 1652 and cricket since at least 1725, though the ground's links to archery may date from the late 15th century.
