Looking west along Oxford Street, showing pedestrians and traffic passing peace decorations erected outside Selfridges for the Peace Day celebrations. In the foreground is a temporary structure consisting of statues depicting servicemen from the armed forces and an angel holding laurel wreaths. This photograph is one of a group the photographer took on the 18th, 21st & 23rd July 1919 recording the peace decorations that had been erected in London for Peace Day and the Victory March, 19th July 1919, in celebration of the end of World War 1.
