Letter from A. Anthony Smith, an African-American man, to his brother, 1911. 'No, 112 Pine Street Oct 23 1911. My dear Brother yours off [sic] 20 was recieved today i am not feeling so well to day i do hope when these few lines is recieved that they will find you well, i wrote to [chap?] today she sent me 20 dollars so that make 40 dollars that i have recieved from [cheque?] i will send the papers to you to morrow as i dont feale [sic] much like writing. So this will Be A few lines to let you hear from me i will say good by tell Lula i am very mutch [sic] please with her picture my wife says you must send her your Picture well i will say good by from your brother'. (Lula Smith qualified as a teacher in 1924).
