'Savannah Sept 10 1889 - My dear Housband I receive your kind leter and was very so glad to here from you I receive the pacage and was well please with it Whe haven a very [illegible] and the Wheather is very Cold here pleas to get the Baby Carage and sen it for if you Dont get it know she will never get it. The children ar all well and i am movin about [illegible] say she want pa par to come home today. The family wish to send their love to you nothing more to say I remain you truly wife J Smith [Josephine Blaze Smith]'. 'New York City, Sept 6th 1883, My dear wife...I here close you ten 10.00 dollars & I has not had time to atend to the babie carrage yet...your Charlie Smith & Remember me to your sister & all that ask of me kiss my darling little children for me...'.
