Henry Trescot for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to me in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these Presents, by Jacob Small (the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge) have bargained and sold, and by these presents, do bargain, sell, and deliver to the said Jacob Small A [Certain?] Mulatto Fellow named William about 26 years of age [illegible] To have and to Hold the said Fellow William unto the said Jacob Small his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, to his and their only proper use and behoof, forever. And the said Wm. Henry Trescot Executors, and Administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said Jacob Small his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, from and against all persons...'.
