Feud - Scenes in Virginia Mountain Town at Trial After Feud, 1912. Judge Walter R. Staples in court; possibly a reenactment of the shooting of the first judge. Photo taken in Carroll County, Virginia, between March and May 1912. Related to second trial of Floyd Allen after he killed the judge at his first trial. Landowner Floyd Allen was convicted and executed for murder in 1913 after a courthouse shootout the previous year that left a judge, prosecutor, sheriff, and two others dead.
