The Right Hon. Lord Dynevor - from the Presentation Portrait, painted by J. Lucas, 1856. '...Colonel George Rice-Trevor...for thirty five years the able representative of the county of Carmarthen in the Commons House of Parliament...Among his acts of charity may be mentioned the establishment of the Carmarthenshire Infirmary, the recent voluntary offer to construct the new national schools at Llandilo at his own expense, and the undeviating support given to the Welsh schools in London. Soon after the elevation of Colonel George Rice-Trevor to the Peerage a fund was raised for presenting his Lordship with a testimonial...a portrait of himself. The commission was intrusted to Mr. J. Lucas...whence the accompanying Illustration has been engraved...Sir John Mansel...presented the Portrait, after an eloquent address; and Lord Dynevor, who was visibly affected, thanked the company for the gift...'.
