Foxhunters Regaling in the "Good" Old Times - drawn by John Leech, 1856. 'Men can now dine and return to the drawing-room; and, with such temptations as Mr. Leech has presented to us, who would not prefer to the riotous orgies of the "good old times" the rational enjoyment of our "degenerate days"? It is generally painful to think that we visit a place for the last time; that we shake some friendly hand for the last time; that we have enjoyed some favourite pursuit for the last time...what is it when you feel that you have had your last day with the hounds?...old friends and old scenes connected with the manliest and best of sports come back to us at will...We are vain enough to think, and weak enough to hope, that there are some readers of this paper who may not have forgotten many happy meetings which were shared with one who has often signed himself, Tom Moody'.
